Welcome!
I have developed this online visual arts teaching and learning resource with much passion and dedication, in the hope that it will provide both pre-service and in-service teachers relevant information about Visual Arts in the Curriculum as well as interesting and creative activities which can be used and adapted in any classroom. This entire website is based on my chosen focus artist, Olive Cotton.
Olive Cotton is an excellent artist to focus on in the classroom, she is an influential and well respected figure within Australia’s art community whose work can not only be used under the Arts domain but also in other areas including History (her work spanned through the second war with many of her photos reflecting this) Mathematics (Cotton incorporates asymmetrical arrangements of her subject matter in many of her photos) as well as Design, Creativity and Technology (using digital media in the form of cameras and digital editing software)
Here You will find:

Here You will find:
- a short Biography of Cotton's life, artwork and influence on Australian Culture;
- a small sample of Cotton's art pieces;
- a selection of activities based on Olives Cotton's work which can be used in the classroom;
- a reflective statement expressing my view of Visual Arts position in the curriculum
- and additional resources all which compliment the information provided on this site.
